Activate Net Banking Online

Net Banking (or Internet Banking) allows you to perform almost all your banking activities from the comfort of your home. Most modern banks allow you to activate your Net Banking credentials online without a branch visit.

What You Need to Activate Net Banking

To successfully register for online banking, make sure you have the following ready:

  • Your Bank Account Number and Customer ID (CIF Number).
  • The Mobile Number registered with your bank account (must be active for OTPs).
  • An active Debit/ATM Card and its PIN.

General Step-by-Step Registration Process

Step 1: Visit Official Bank Website

Always ensure you visit the official, secure website of your bank (look for 'https'). Go to the Retail or Personal Internet Banking section.

Step 2: Select 'New User Registration'

Click on the option that says 'New User Registration' or 'Register for Net Banking'.

Step 3: Enter Account Details

Fill in your Account Number, CIF/Customer ID, Branch Code, registered Mobile Number, and the security captcha. Submit the form.

Step 4: Authenticate with OTP

Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number to verify your identity.

Step 5: Provide Debit Card Details

To confirm you are the account holder, the bank will ask for your active Debit Card Number, Expiry Date, and ATM PIN. Complete this authentication.

Step 6: Set Login Credentials

Create your unique Username (if the bank allows) and a strong Login Password. You may also need to set a separate Profile/Transaction Password.

Essential Security Tips

  • Never share your Login Password, Transaction Password, or OTP with anyone.
  • Avoid using public Wi-Fi networks when logging into your Net Banking account.
  • Always use the 'Logout' button when you finish your session.
